Photos - Praslin (Seychelles) |
Praslin is the second largest island (38 km2) of the Seychelles, having a population of about 6,500 people.
Praslin is known as a tourist destination with clear waters and many beaches and hotels. The interior of the island is mostly covered by tropical forests with many endemic plants. Well-known is the Coco de Mer, the beautiful Azul or Zoria, a species of palm that grows only on the islands of Praslin and Curieuse. Sometimes nicknamed the 'love nut' because of its suggestive shape, the "coco de mer" is the world's largest seed.
